GED Test Prep- Get Plenty of Sleep and be Rested

When you are preparing to take the actual GED test, remember to get plenty of sleep the night before. If you work third shift, you may want to arrange to have a day off. Each of the battery of the GED tests is long.... not short. You will need ALL your mind energy!

Eat a healthy well-balanced meal for breakfast! The last thing you need on your mind is a grumbling stomach! Eat something.... even if you need to grab an apple.

Don't do any last minute cramming... it is better to have a rested and relaxed mind. You have done all your studying already, so just go in and do the best that you can.

Good luck and let me know how you did!

GED Reading: Read, Read, and Read Some More

Read, read, and read some more. All of the GED tests involve reading. Unless you can read and comprehend what you read, you will have difficulty with the tests. Read every day whether it is the local newspaper, a book, or your email. Grad a book and read to your child. If you struggle with reading, find a good teacher or tutor. The higher your reading level and comprehension, the easier the tests will be for you.

Reading level

It is important to prepare using the appropriate learning materials. This means materials that are appropriate with your current skills. If you have a reading level of at least 10th grade, you should not have any problems with the Language Arts, Reading, Science, or Social Studies tests. If your reading level is lower than 10th grade, consider purchasing Pre-GED study materials.

GED Study

Study, study, and study some more! Whether you decide to take a class or purchase GED study materials, it is important that you take your GED preparation and studying seriously. The more you study, the quicker you will complete. If you get stuck in an area and do not understand it, get help. Ask friends, family, your boss, anyone you know who may be able to help you. Sign up for a GED class. Do not get discouraged, and if you find yourself getting frustrated- again, ask for help.
